Data Deletion
Last updated: 2026-10-10
Crumbtally, published by Sloth Lab, has no accounts and no server that stores your recipes. There is no account to delete. This page explains how to delete the data the App does handle.
1. Your recipes, ingredients, and prices (stored on your device)
This data exists only on your device, so you are in full control. Any of these deletes it permanently:
- Delete individual items inside the App (ingredients, recipes, prices).
- Clear the App's data:
- Android: Settings → Apps → Crumbtally → Storage → Clear storage (or Clear data).
- iPhone: iOS has no "clear data" button for apps — uninstall the App instead.
- Uninstall the App. This removes the App's database from your device.
Also note:
- Backup files you exported are stored wherever you saved them (Files, email, a cloud drive). Delete them there.
- Device backups: if your phone's own Google or iCloud backup is on, an older copy of the App's data may remain in that backup until your operating system replaces or removes it. You can manage those backups in your device or account settings.
We cannot delete this data for you, because we never receive it.
2. Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports
If you allowed them, the App sends anonymous usage statistics (PostHog) and crash reports (Google Firebase Crashlytics). These never include your recipe names, ingredient names, or prices, and they are tied only to a random installation identifier, not to your identity.
- Stop collection: in the App, turn off Settings → Usage statistics. This turns off both usage statistics and crash reports immediately. The App keeps working normally.
- Break the link to past data: uninstall the App or clear its data. This resets the random installation identifier, so anything sent later cannot be connected to what was sent before.
- Ask us to delete it: email admin@slothlab.app with the subject "Crumbtally data deletion request". Because this data is not linked to a name or email, we may ask for details that help us find it (for example, your device model and the approximate date you used the App). We will delete any matching data we can identify within 30 days and confirm by reply.
- Automatic deletion: data that is not deleted on request is removed automatically under each provider's retention settings (for example, Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days).
3. What we keep
Nothing that identifies you. We may keep aggregated, anonymous statistics (for example, "how many recipes were costed this week") that cannot be linked back to any person or device.
